Laurie L. Moyer
October 13, 1960 – June 9, 2025

 

Laurie Moyer, 64, of Millerstown, PA, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on October 13, 1960, in Harrisburg, PA, Laurie brought warmth, laughter, and light into the lives of everyone who knew her. Bubbly, witty, and deeply loving, Laurie had a natural gift for making others feel at ease. Her joyful presence filled every room, and her quick humor left smiles wherever she went.

 

Laurie worked in hospitality, where her kindness and welcoming nature touched the lives of many — including her husband, Stephen, which is how they met. She was an animal lover through and through, and her love of nature and gardening reflected the unique spirit that made her so cherished. She especially enjoyed puzzles and spooky movies, which brought her comfort and delight throughout her life.

 

She is survived by her devoted husband, Stephen Moyer; her beloved children, daughter Nicolle Fox (her favorite) with her husband Randall, and her son Richard Moyer with his wife Christine; her treasured grandchildren, Troy and Katie Moyer. Laurie also leaves behind her loving sisters, Robyn and Julie Dunleavy, and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Dunleavy, and her father, Dean Dunleavy.

 

A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at David Myers Funeral Home in Newport, PA. A graveside memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Eshcol Memorial Cemetery.

 

Laurie’s life was a beautiful reflection of grace and comfort — as she is now being comforted — captured perfectly in this scripture:

 

Isaiah 66:13
"As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you;"

 

She will be forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.
