Linda A. Dietz, 77 years old of Newport, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024 at the Hershey Medical Center. She was born June 4, 1947 to the late Grover L. and Mella (Lindsay) Barkley. She was a member of the Newport First Church of God and a 1965 graduate of Newport High School. She enjoyed going on cruises and picnicking  with family and friends.

  Linda was the widow of Walter E. Dietz and is survived by her sons, Brad E. Sheaffer of Newport and Clyde E. Sheaffer (Penny) of Ickesburg; brother James Barkley (Pam) of Newport; grandchildren Gabe, Wade (Skyler) and Penelope Rose Sheaffer and great grandchildren Emmett and Walker  Sheaffer.

  Services will be held Friday, July 12 at the Newport First Church of God, 334 South 5th Street, Newport with a visitation from 10 AM until the Memorial Service at 11 AM.
