Lou Ann Potter, of New Bloomfield, PA, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025.  She was born on July 29, 1955 in Harrisburg, PA to Robert and Betty (Comp) Shearer.  

Lou Ann obtained her Bachelor’s in Music Education from Messiah College in 1977.  While finishing her degree, she began her career at Christ Presbyterian Church where she would become the Director of Music and hold the position 42 years, until her retirement in 2018. 

Her musical talents touched all who heard her play.  Throughout the years she was the accompanist for The Harrisburg Singers and the Susquehanna Chorale, as well as playing for many private recitals in the Harrisburg area.  She was also an Adjunct Music Professor and accompanist to the Opera Company at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA. 

Lou Ann is survived by her daughter, Kendra Potter of Shermans Dale.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W Potter, her father Robert Shearer, and her brother Vance Shearer. 

Memorial Services will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church, 421 Deerfield Road in Camp Hill, PA on Saturday, March 1st, 2025 with Visitation beginning at 10 am and service following at 11 am. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the music program at Christ Presbyterian Church in Camp Hill, PA.
