Margaret "Peg" A (Furry) Tressler Obituary

Margaret A. "Peg" Tressler,  73 years old, of Newport, passed away April 20, 2024. She was born February 19, 1951 to the late Theodore and Helen Furry. She was a retired teacher  for the Newport School  District where she was also active in the athletic programs as a coach for softball, girls basketball and  golf. She was a 1969 graduate at Greenwood High School and continued her education at Shippensburg College where she earned her bachelor and master degrees. She was a member of the Highland Presbyterian Church where she was organist, pianist, bell choir member and member of the church Session and auxiliary member of the Newport American Legion.

  Peg is survived by her husband, Dennis Tressler, son, Ryan M. Tressler (Meghan Rath) of Drexel Hill, PA, daughter, Teri L Jadlowski (William) of Utica, NY, brother, Jim Furry (Gail) of Allentown, sister,  Lynne Douty (Nathan) of Mechanicsburg and grandchildren Lincoln and Ila Jadlowski.

 Services will be held Saturday, May 4 at the Highland Presbyterian Church,  11 Church Road, Newport with a visitation from 10 AM  to 11:30 AM and Celebration of Life Service at 11 :30 AM with the Reverend Nancy McClure officiating.

  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Highland Presbyterian Church or the American Cancer Society.
