Melanie Campbell Obituary

Melanie was born October 9, 1957 in Springfield, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Robert and JoAnn (Idler) Taft.

Mrs. Campbell worked as a Systems Analyst for Highmark of Camp Hill.

Melanie loved to plan and throw parties. She was an extremely good cook, avid gardener and loved painting. She will be remembered as a special colleague, friend, sister, wife, mother and much more. She was strong, warm, compassionate and had a great work ethic. She was always seeking nature and fun with her family in loving ways. She loved spending time at the beach in Lewes, Delaware, where her ashes will be spread in the bay.

Melanie was preceded in death by a sister, Jonna Taft.

Melanie is survived by her husband, Gary L. Campbell of Newport; 2 sons: Jeremiah Campbell and his wife Marcy of Liverpool, Ian Campbell and his wife Tabetha of Liverpool; a brother Casey Taft and his wife Tara of Linglestown; 5 sisters: Tara Jones and her husband Jim of Mechanicsburg, Danielle Taft of Enola, Liza Brown and her husband Greg of Palm City, Florida, Holly Heller and her husband Terry of Newport, and Erin Miller and her husband James of Camp Hill. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Chayse Campbell, Gabe Sheaffer, Caleb Campbell; 1 great-granddaughter: Penelope Sheaffer.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00pm, Sunday, June 12 in the Highland Presbyterian Church, 11 Church Road, Newport, PA, where a visitation will be held from 2:00pm until 3:00pm. The Rev. Candace Arnold will be officiating.
