Mildred S (Sarver) Jones

MILDRED S. (SARVER) JONES, 93, of Millerstown, died Tuesday, March 22, 2022 in the Kinkora Pythian home of Duncannon.

Mildred was a 1946 graduate of the Greenwood High School. She was also a graduate of the Joyce Art Beauty Culture School in Harrisburg.

She formerly resided in Oxford, PA, where she was active in her church and community.

Mildred and her husband spent their summers in Ocean City, MD where they owned and operated Jones’s Cottages.

She was a member of the Donnally Mills United Methodist Church.

Mildred loved cooking, baking and spending time with her family.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin & E. Irene (Brookhart) Sarver, her husband, Willard F. Jones, 2 brothers: Richard C. Sarver and Larry Sarver,and a sister,  Dorothy Haines.

She is survived by 4 sons: John L. Jones and his wife Brenda of North Liberty, IA, Robert K. Jones and his wife Pamela of Millerstown, David L. Jones and his wife Lori of Newport, and Alan D. Jones and his wife Joanita of Akron, PA; a brother, James Sarver of York; a sister, Nancy Brown of Hanover, PA, 9 grandchildren, Stephanie, John, Jennifer, Robert, Emily, Nicholas, Lydia, Malachi and Ezekiel; 4 great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Lewis, James and Hazel.

Funeral services will be held Saturday April 2, at 12 Noon at the Donnally Mills United Methodist Church, 4078 Raccoon Valley Road, Millerstown, PA, where a viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m to Noon. Burial will be in the Newport Cemetery, Newport. Rev. Fred Rudy will be officiating. David M. Myers Funeral Home, Newport are handling the arrangements.
