March 22, 1942 ~ September 9, 2023 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Obituary

Nancy M. Shearer, 81, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023 at her home in Mechanicsburg. She was born March 22, 1942 in Newport to Samuel David and Bessie Viola (Britcher) Campbell.

Nancy held a special place in many people’s hearts.  She was a beautiful person inside and out.  She was known to many as “Gram”; she always welcomed her children’s friends and family as her own.  She cherished her time with family and loved going to the beach, going out to eat, playing mini golf, seeing movies and telling jokes with her family.  She always put others before herself and would offer help to anyone in need, bringing a smile and comfort to people with her presence.

Nancy is survived by her children Charles "Chuck" Geedy of Mechanicsburg, Dena Weidenhof of Newport, Laurie Dowdrick of Duncannon and Tammy Miller (Ivan) of Mechanicsburg; brothers Lee “Gertie” Campbell of Highspire and Barry Campbell of Newport; sister Connie Gusler of Hummelstown; grandchildren Carla, Joe, Michael, Tessa and Aiden and great grandchildren Devon, Tharyn and Sayde. She was preceded in death by her grandson Jonathan Weidenhof; brothers, Charles “Gene”, David “Tom” and Donald Campbell; and sisters Viola “Sis” Johnson, Arlene “Sue” Henry and Linda Martin.
