Patricia J. Crockett “Patches”, 74 years old, of Millerstown, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023. She
was born September 29, 1948 in Columbia to Charles E. and Grace E. Bish.
She is survived by her husband, William R. Crockett; son William R. Crockett Jr.; brothers David T. and
George D. Bish; sisters Tina D. Bish and Barbara R. Katalinas; and her beloved nieces and nephew.
Patricia, better known as Patches, was a devout Christian and lover of nature. She loved gardening and
planting “posies” – being in the garden was a favorite pastime and made her feel closest to God. She
loved animals and especially her darling dog, Fawn, who was always by her side (most often in a “perty”
dress!). Patches also loved making arts and crafts- In fact, she could repurpose anything into a beautiful
craft (think plastic bottles turned into jewelry!).
Although Patches faced many health issues during her life, her positivity and uplifting attitude inspired
those around her. She embodied what the human spirit is truly about – what we should all aspire to be.
She was compassionate, warm and welcoming to all. She had a playful and jovial spirit and her booming
laughter could make just about anyone smile. She loved music and even turned her yawns into beautiful
sing-songs. It was impossible to spend time with Patches without smiling and most usually, after
spending time with her, you were smiling too. She was genuinely eccentric and showered those around
her with love. For many, she was a ray of sunshine in the darkest moments. She was happiest when
surrounded by family and friends especially Bill, her beloved husband of nearly 40 years. Her love
extended to everyone around her; she spent many years doing volunteering work for the local Moose
and Moose Heart organizations. She also organized a food distribution for the needy. She was loved by
all those around her and will be greatly missed.
