Patti Tressler Obituary

  Patti Ann Tressler, 70, of Newport, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at Perry Village, New Bloomfield, Pa with her family by her side.
  Born December 20, 1946 in Harrisburg, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Betty (Gibney) Tressler and Jesse Tressler of Newport, PA. Patti was one of 5 children. She went to school at Oak Hall and Milford before graduating in 1967 from Newport High School. During her high school years, she worked at the News Sun and Jeffries grocery store. Patti worked for Evangelical Press for 2 years and then went on to work for PennDot, retiring 33 years later.
  Patti was a member of the Oliver Grange 1069, Pomona Grange, and the Perry Historians. She belonged to the former Wila United Methodist Church, Newport, Pa. She was a master at crocheting and knitting. She loved to make warm blankets, hats, and wash cloths for family members and friends, as well as for NICU babies and foster children.
  Patti loved her family very much. She especially enjoyed taking her nieces and nephews to the movies and to the swimming pool. She loved to go on bus trips. She enjoyed the Perry County Fair and visiting with old friends. Patti especially loved her dogs, Tika, Trixie, and Tippy.
  Patti is survived by her sister, Rebecca Luxbacher of Newport and brother, Robert Tressler of Newport. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Venessa Schofield, Adam Williams, Chad Schreiber, Cory Schreiber, Lisa Tressler, and Sandra Breaux. She was preceded in death by her brother, Randy Tressler and her sister Rhonda Tressler Williams.
  A funeral for Patti will be held Saturday at 11 AM at the David Myers Funeral Home Newport,Pa. with burial to follow in the Wila Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all donations be made to Hospice of Central Pa., 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, Pa. 17110.
