Paul E. "Nook" Troutman, 89 years old, passed away Friday, February 6, 2026 at his home in Newport. He was born February 5, 1937 in New Bloomfield to the late George E. and Mary Elizabeth (Holmes) Troutman. He was a member of the Newport Social Order of Owls and the Newport VFW. He enjoyed NASCAR, trucks and breakfast at Bittings Restaurant.

 Paul was preceded in death by his wife Thelma A. Troutman and is survived by  children Tammy Troutman, Jean Shull, and Wendy Howell of Newport, Susan Bernecky of Landisburg, Dave Troutman, Pete

Troutman,and  Richard Troutman of Newport and Carl Earnest of Landisburg; brothers Jesse Troutman of Newport and John Troutman of Texas; sister Pia Kuhns of Blain; 20 grandchildren and several  great and great great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by son Barry Troutman, daughter Deb Earnest and brothers William, Rich and Bob Troutman.

 A visitation will be held Thursday, February 12 from 2-3 PM at the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
