Paula Marie Lyons-Goerman, 58, of Newport died Saturday, November 30, 2024, at home after a long battle with illness.

Born December 26, 1965, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania she was the youngest daughter of the late Mary Ellen (Kelley) and John Lyons, Jr.  Paula grew up in Sewickley Pennsylvania, graduated from Quaker Valley High School in 1984 and with an associate degree from the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy. 

She managed a salon in Sewickley before she married and moved to the Newport area in 1994 with her husband of 30 years, David Goerman, Jr.  Paula worked in the banking industry and was a tireless volunteer at Newport Elementary School.  She was passionate about helping teachers and students alike.  Even in her last days she was working on fundraising activities for others. Paula was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania. She was a devoted mother, wife, and a passionate Steelers and Penguins fan.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents and sister Sandra (Lyons) Farrier.

She is survived by her husband and two children Hunter and Paige of Newport, three sisters Deborah and her husband Ernie Pugh, Columbus, GA, Ellen Szydlyk, Crestline, OH, and Sheila and her husband Thomas Malone, Port Lucie FL.

A remembrance will be held Sunday, December 15 from 2-4pm at The Andersonburg Place, 5906 Shermans Valley Rd, Loysville, PA for family and friends. Another celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, in her hometown of Sewickley, Pennsylvania for her loved ones in the Pittsburgh area.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her memory (https://www.stjude.org).

The family requests that visitors planning to attend the celebration add some color to their attire in her honor.
