Reverend Paul Kauffman Obituary

Rev. Paul W. Kauffman, 92, passed away at home on August 3, 2021. He was born to
Paul and Alice (Crowl) Kauffman on January 4, 1929 in Dallastown, PA.
Paul was a graduate of Dallastown High School, Class of 1946, Lebanon Valley
College, Bonebrake/United Theological Seminary, and completed his graduate
studies at Gettysburg College.
His greatest joys in life were serving his God and his people. At age 17, he received
his first license to preach and continued on for 72 years in the ministry. He served
his churches in Ohio at Miamisburg and Rosewood, in Pennsylvania at Fayetteville,
West Fairview, York Area Parish, Emigsville-Longstown, Mt. Nebo Charge, Newport
Parish, Montgomery, Harrisburg 29 th Street, Harrisburg First and Otterbein,
Wesley Marysville, and West Fairview, and in Maryland at Boonsboro.
He was director and counselor of Camp Penn Church Camp, a 25 year “cook” for
Rock Run Hunting Club, past Chaplain of Zembo Luncheon Club and of Tall Cedars of
Lebanon Forest #43, visiting Chaplain of the Visiting Nurses Association, volunteer
for Night Ministry at Harrisburg Hospital, past Chaplain Newport Fire Company,
volunteer at HELP Center and former ambulance driver for Newport Ambulance
League.
He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Deanna (Dee) Woods Kauffman,
several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, two sisters of
Florida, Rachel Amick and Bonnie (Elmer) Noles, and his son-in-law Patrick Reilly,
daughter-in-law Kathy Kauffman, and many friends who also became his family.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, a stepmother Hilda (Rhine) Kauffman, a
brother Ronald Kauffman, a daughter Kristen Reilly, a son Paul W. Kauffman, a
grandson Paul Joshua Kauffman, and a step-grandson Justin Brummett.
As Paul wished, there will be no services held. Donations in his honor can be made
to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
