Richard L Fickes

 Richard L. "Dick" Fickes, 67 years old, of Newport, passed away Friday, January 20, 2023 peacefully  at home, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 7, 1955 to Bessie Undergust and John Fickes Sr. Dick was well known locally as the go-to repair man as he worked for Shiffer Bros. Inc. of Newport, PA for over twenty- five years. He was an avid hunter and loved working on anything mechanical.
  Dick is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol, his children Shane Fickes of Newport, Christian (Dawn) Fickes of Newport, Michelle Cramer of Newport and Richard (Shana) Fickes of Dillsburg, brother Wayne (Kathy) Fickes of Duncannon, John Fickes Jr. of Newport, sister Alice (Ken) Shetron of Harrisburg, fifteen grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, William and David Fickes.
