Robert M Hetrick Obituary

Robert McGuire “Bob” Hetrick, 84, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away peacefully Friday night, January 2, 2026, at Camp Hill Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Camp Hill, PA.


Robert was born on September 8, 1941, to the late Warren N. and Isophine M. (McGuire) Hetrick at their farm near Millerstown, PA.


He went to a one room schoolhouse and continued his education at Millerstown High School. In his younger years, he attended Center Union Church, Newport, PA.


Bob was a Navy veteran.


He worked in the building/construction business where he was employed by John R. Hetrick.


Bob enjoyed traveling out West and to his favorite beaches. He was an avid gardener and self-taught artist. He loved to incorporate outdoor scenery and animals into his paintings and gifted many of his beautiful works of art to family and friends. 


Robert was a loving and faithful son, brother, uncle, and friend.


He is survived by his sister, Ruth Shaffer, Middleburg, PA, and four generations of nieces and nephews.


Robert was predeceased by five siblings and their spouses: Margaret (Raymond) Pomeroy, Warren (Margaret Stitt) Hetrick, Beatrice (David) Kitner, Alma (Charles) Gessner, John (Faye Straub) Hetrick, and brother-in-law Rev. Alvin Shaffer.


Services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026,11 AM at the Central Baptist Church, 29 Pines Drive, Millerstown, PA.


Interment will be held at a later date in the Wright’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Old Ferry Road, Millerstown, PA.
