Robert (Bob) E. Sheaffer, 89 years old, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025, which was the birthday of his deceased Mother, at his home in Tuscarora Township, Millerstown. He was born on November 24, 1935, in Tuscarora Township, Perry County, to the late Robert L. and Tillie M. (Strawser) Sheaffer.  His previous employment included: PA state employee, truck driver, Treen Box & Pallet Company office manager and part owner of Perry Pallets. He was a member of the Donnally Mills United Methodist Church, a member of the Juniata County Rotary and a board member of the Pennian Bank. He enjoyed hunting, reloading shells, collecting knives, fishing, camping, NASCAR racing, tractors, feeling so proud of and telling others about his brothers’ accomplishments, solving the world’s problems with his buddies at Fegley’s over  coffee, teaching his children and grandchildren how important staying together as a family is; and most important to him were his family vacations, time at the river house, shake-n-bake turkey get-togethers and being with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mary E. (Kerr) Sheaffer (they recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary); son Keith Sheaffer (Chris) of Newport; daughters Kim Rhoades (Mike) of Newport and Pam Banks of Dauphin; grandchildren Mark and Bobbie Rhoades, Lauren Pauling (Derek), Caitlin and Jeb Banks, and Kolby (Lily) and Stone Sheaffer; and great grandchildren Cooper Pauling and Axel Sheaffer. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Courtney Banks and siblings Donald, David and William Sheaffer and Betty Lou Gutshall.

Services will be held Wednesday, June 11 at the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport with a viewing from 9 AM until the funeral service at 11 AM with Reverend Fred Rudy officiating. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Perry County Animal Rescue, 379 Sugar Run Road, Millerstown, PA 17062.
