Rodney A. Arnold, age 72, of Newport, passed away at his home on Sunday January 4, 2026. He was born November 27, 1953, to the late Harry and Beulah (Kerstetter) Arnold.
He attended Selinsgrove High school and retired in July of 2020 from the construction industry. He was a loving and devoted husband and father to his wife and daughter, and a friend to everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by his pets Archie, Maddie, Sissy, and Boy-Boy. His passions were reading and cooking. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers play. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Linda (Crockett) Arnold. His daughter Bonnie (Arnold) Wood and son -in-law Shaun Wood of Dauphin. His four step grandchildren Evan Wood, Ethan Wood, Mikayla Wood, and Natalie Wood. Along with one step great granddaughter Primrose Wood, brother -in- law Keni Crockett and wife Tracy (Little) Crockett, nephews Jared Crockett and Brandyn Crockett and niece Taylor Crockett, his sisters Judy Hile, Carol Houseworth, and Deb Brubaker & Melvin, and his brothers Jim Weader & Esther, George Weader & Brenda, Randy Arnold & Roxanne, and Jody Arnold. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Mary.
The Arnold family would like to add special thanks to Residential Hospice Care nurses Denese and Emily along with his massage therapist Aislyn and Chaplain Ed. Along with a thank you to his friends and neighbors who were always there to lend a helping hand Greg and Becky Smith, and the Adam Jacobs family including Lindsay, Johnny, Belle, and Ollie.
He will be eternally missed and, in our hearts, forever, we love you, Daddy.
