Sandra Y (Zitsch) Black Obituary

Sandra Y Black 69 of Elliottsburg went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 27, 2025, after a
courageous thirteen-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Known to her family as Sam and to
her grandchildren as Ronca, Sandra was born October 2, 1955, in Harrisburg, the daughter of
the late Elmer and Martha Zitsch.
A wife, mother, and business owner. She loved animals, gardening and loved spending time
with her sister and family at every opportunity. Sandy was an avid reader, enjoyed hiking,
spending time at the cabin in Potter County, loved fishing in Canada and treasured vacations
with her children in Myrtle Beach. A devout Christian and a faithful believer in the Lord and
Savior, Sandy found joy in life’s simple pleasures.
Sandy was pre-deceased by Elmer (father) and Martha (mother) Zitsch and Jolene Hoffman
(sister). She is survived by her husband William (Bill) Black, a daughter Michele Hare of
Hershey, PA, a son James Gallagher and wife Treasure of Elliottsburg, PA, a stepdaughter
Angela Ulsh and husband Barry Ulsh of Hummelstown, PA. She is the grandmother to four
grandchildren, Katie Hare, Teagan Gallagher, Kemper Gallagher and Gavin Ulsh. Sandy is
survived by three brothers Jeffery Zitsch of Walnut, KS, Jere Zitsch of Annville, PA and Dwight
Zitsch of Carlise, PA.
The family would like to express its deep appreciation to the staff at Sarah Todd Memorial
Home. They provided Sandy with exceptional care and compassion.
A celebration of Sandy's life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at  The Church of the Living Christ, Loysville with a visitation from 10 AM until the Memorial Service at 11 AM.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or  The Church of the Living Christ, Loysville.
