Sherry Dale Taylor, 75, of Duncannon, Pennsylvania, was called Home to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Born 1 November 1948 in San Jose, California, she was the daughter of Larry Weimer and Shirley Openshaw and the devoted and cherished wife of Howard Taylor for fifty-two years. She is survived by her husband, her children Drew and Mandy, Derek and Natalie, Audry, Chad and Kristin, Clarke, and Alex and Katlin, as well as ten beloved grandchildren. She graduated from Brigham Young University and the University of Southern California with a master’s degree in education, was a world traveler as a young folk dancer and later as a military wife, and enjoyed making music, fiber arts, and homemade bread. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, deeply engaged in LDS community activities as Relief Society President, chorister, and pianist. Publishing a church newsletter for over 30 years, she also served as a church service missionary with her husband for ten years as a facilitator and leader in the church’s addiction and recovery program. Sherry uplifted her many friends and family members with a joyful heart full of nurturing care. Her kind and regal example, winning ways, and perceptive spirit are forever precious to her loved ones. A viewing will be held at 3787 Cold Storage Road, New Bloomfield, PA 17068, at the LDS Chapel, on Saturday at 10 am, followed by a memorial at 11 am. A reception will occur directly afterward, with private interment to follow at Quantico Veterans Administration Cemetery on Thursday, September 5th.
