Shirley M. Barkley, 83 years old, of Newport, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024 at The Manor at Perry Village. She was born July 30, 1941 to the late Richard and Elsie (Pressley) Sharar Sr.. She was a member of the Newport VFW and Millerstown Moose. She enjoyed buying lottery tickets and her flowers. Her greatest joy was her dog and spending time with her family.
Shirley is survived by her husband John Barkley; sons, Greg A Ebersole (Karen) and Richard E. Ebersole; daughter Terri L Fosselman (Joe); brothers Robert and Vince Sharar; sister Kathy Bucher; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons Franklin Ebersole Jr., Robert L. Ebersole and Steven Ebersole; brothers Richard Sharar Jr. Ronald "Square" Sharar, Edward Sharar and Donald Sharar and sister Florence Seiders.
A Graveside Service will be held Friday, September 20 at 11 AM at Bucks Church Cemetery, Newport
