Stephen L Kerr

Stephen L. Kerr, 65, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at his home in Tuscarora Township, Millerstown. He was born October 16, 1957 to  Audrey Zendt Kerr and the late G. David Kerr.

 He had previously worked for the government at the Naval Supply Depot, Mechanicsburg, and the New Cumberland Army Depot (DDSP) as a material handler. He was a veteran of the US Army where he was awarded an expert badge for marksmanship with the M-16 and had also studied diesel mechanics at MTA, Elizabethtown. He was an Eagle Scout, a member of the DAV Chapter 49, had attended Eshcol Brethren in Christ Church and was a member of the Newport American Legion. He loved to ride his Victory motorcycle and drive his tractor while taking care of the family farm. His other interests included attending his grandchildren's activities, welding, getting firewood with his tractor and grapple, talking with friends on the phone and putting out food for the wildlife.
  
 Stephen is survived by his wife of 45 years, Melodee Gabel Kerr, son Tristan Kerr and wife Merena of Millerstown, daughter Misha Kerr of Millerstown, mother Audrey Kerr of Millerstown, sister Lisa Kerr of Harrisburg and grandchildren Ashlin Kelemen, Summer Kelemen, Braxtan Kerr, Porter Kerr, Willow Kerr, Aspen Showers and Ensley Kerr.
  
 Services will be held Saturday, January 14, from the Eshcol Brethren  in Christ Church, 12755 Buffalo Trace Road, Newport, PA with visitation from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Andy Meiser. A meal will follow in the church social hall. Donations in Steve's memory may be made to the church, PO Box 244, Ickesburg, PA 17037.
Private inurnment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
