Suzanne Todd, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and formerly of Newport, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, at the age of 82. She will be remembered as a talented artist, dedicated teacher and supportive mother.
Born on May 24, 1944, Suzanne was the daughter of Dr. George E. Todd and Ruth (Cunningham) Todd. While growing up in Newport, she was active in sports, band, Girl Scouts and the arts. Suzanne’s artistic talents led her to Kutztown University, where she earned a degree in art education.
Suzanne taught elementary art for 37 years at Cornwells Elementary School in the Bensalem School District, giving generations of children their first exposure to art. In her early years, she was known for building sets and designing costumes for school plays. She later passed on that love of theater to her daughter. After retiring in 2003, she moved to Florida to be close to family. There, she continued pursuing her artistic interests by studying watercolor under Sue Archer and Ted Matz.
Suzanne is survived by her daughter, Julie (Rosborough) Nicholas, and son-in-law, Jim Nicholas; their extended family, including Cassandra and Aria Mercado; nieces Betsy Todd Williams, Jennifer Dent, and Lisa Todd; nephews Christopher Todd and Robert H. Todd; and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert C. Todd.
A brief service will be held at David M. Myers Funeral Home in Newport, on Friday, July 24 at 11 AM followed by burial in the Newport Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Lighthouse ArtCenter’s scholarship fund at www.lighthousearts.org/support.
