Thelma L (Foose) Elliott

Thelma Loraine (Foose) Elliott of Newport, Pa. passed away on October 13, 2023. She was born March 6, 1928, a daughter of Albert and Margaret Foose of Honey Grove, Pa. She was married in 1952 to Loyal Ira Elliott of Butler, Pa, who passed away on December 2, 1984. She was a graduate of  the Juniata Joint High School in Mifflintown, PA. Class of 1946. She retired from the Commonwealth of Pa as a secretary after 33 years of employment. She was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church of Newport, Pa. She is survived by two sons: Terence Ira Elliott, Loyal Jeffrey Elliott and fiance Cathy Shelley, both of Newport, Pa. Granddaughters: Sherry May Rhoads and husband Shawn Rhoads of Newport, Pa; Suzanne Christine Schultz and husband Matthew Schultz of Fuquay-Varina, NC Two stepdaughters: Darlene Campeau of Verona, Pa. and Dawna Dressler of Spring Grove, Pa. Surviving brothers and sisters C. Norman Foose  and wife Marty Ann of Nashua, N.H.; Garry Foose and wife Marlyn of Duncannon, Pa, Larry Foose and wife Diane of Duncannon, Pa; Naomi Schneider of Camp Hill, Pa. Also surviving are great grandchildren: Elizabeth Clinton, Joshua Clinton, Haley Rhoads, Madelyn Schultz and Elliott Schultz: Great Great GrandChild Hudson Michael Shuey. As well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Lloyd Foose of Port Royal, Pa, Charles Foose of York Haven, Pa sisters Catharine Peters of East Waterford, PA,  Lois  Messner of Camp Hill, Pa Carol Kauffman of Mechanicsburg, Pa and Step Daughter Deanna Hammond. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in her name to her church: Hope Eternal Methodist Church, 2 Burd Road, Newport, PA 17074.

Services will be held Saturday October 21 from the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport with a viewing from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery.
