Virginia S. McNeillie, 93, of New Bloomfield entered into eternal rest on June 17, 2025, at the Legend at
Silver Creek Assisted Living Facility in Mechanicsburg.
She was born on December 1, 1931, to Harry L. and Margaret E. (Keller) Smith of New Bloomfield.
She attended Perry Joint schools and received her teaching degree from Shippensburg Teacher’s
College. Virginia began her teaching career in 1954 in the York Springs School District and then moved
to the West Perry School district teaching English and Pennsylvania history before retiring in 1989.
Her favorite enjoyments were gardening, crossword puzzles and travel.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Andrew W. McNeillie; three children, Douglas S.
McNeillie (Johnna) of Camp Hill, Barbara J. McNeillie (Spurgeon) of Williamsburg, VA and Eric T.
McNeillie (Dulce) of Newport; three grandchildren, Tasha L. McNeillie of Mechanicsburg, Caleb S.
McNeillie (Felicia) of Landisburg and Jacob E. McNeillie of Newport.
A private burial service was held in the New Bloomfield Cemetery on June 23.
