Vonnie Mae Shannon, beloved wife and mother, passed away May 11, 2024 at her home leaving a void her family cannot fill. 

She was the devoted wife of Thomas Frederick Shannon for 65 years and the beloved mother of three children Blair Randall (Randy) Sheriff of Landisburg, PA, Christine Booher of Shermans Dale, PA, and Jill Reeder of Loysville, PA.  Her family was the center of her world. 

She was a grandmother to eight (8) grandchildren, Brandon Reeder, Ethan Reeder, Kristen Storrick, Jake Kennedy, Tommy Booher, Jillyan Sawyer, Lindsey Blumenschein, and Britton Sheriff, and eight (8) great-grandchildren, all of whom were her pride and joy.  She made holidays, birthdays, and family get-togethers special for everyone. 

Vonnie was born January 4, 1942, one of five children to Edith (Barkley) and Blair Sheriff of Landisburg, PA.  She loved to share childhood tales of her brothers and sisters and their mischief and pranks.  She also worked at her family garage where she learned about cars and motorcycles which challenged the norms of the day.  She knew her way around cars and was riding her own motorcycle when girls didn’t dare.  

Vonnie was also a force in the sports she loved, competing in both bowling and golf leagues.  She taught that love to her family who shared many laughs trying to beat her scores.  She loved any and all activities that her family enjoyed whether it was soccer, baseball, fly-fishing, shooting clays, or just plain work.  Vonnie will truly be missed by all.
