NEWPORT- Benjamin F. Bard, Jr. 87, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Kinkora Pythian Home.
Born April 4, 1928 to the late Margaret (Plank) and Benjamin F. Bard, Sr. Also, preceded in death by 2 sisters, Margaret Kimmel and Susanna LaRue and a brother, Charles M. Bard.
He was a member of St. John's UCC in Markelsville for the past 51 years; a Navy Veteran of WWII; a retired Penn Central/Conrail Brakeman, Enola; a member of American Legion Post 751, Enola; and Moose Lodge 1173, Selinsgrove.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Marcia (McGann) Bard; 5 daughters, Cheryl Balmer, Ephrata; Cathy Bard, Mechanicsburg; Susan Coffman (Alton), Tennessee; Marcia Dyson (Mark), Philadelphia; and Lisa Smith (Ritchie), Ephrata; 3 sons, Benjamin, III (Jane), West Virginia; Stephen D. (Beth), Mechanicsburg; and David J. (beloved Teresa), Thompsontown; 31 Grandchildren, 26 Great-Grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends. He is dearly loved and forever in our hearts.
Memorial service will be held at his church, Friday, December 18 with visitation from 10 am until the service at 11 am; luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church at 7007 Creek Road, Newport, PA. 17074.
