Gladys I. Barns, 93 years old, of Millerstown, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Kinkora Pythian Home in Duncannon. She was born November 1, 1923 in Licking Creek, Juniata County to George and Emma (McCahan) Sheesley. She was retired from the Pennsylvania Depertment of Transportation and was a member of the Faith United Church and its Womens Guild in Ickesburg. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Gladys was the widow of John Lynn Barns and is survived by her son, John R. Barns of Camp Hill; daughter, Nancy Sheaffer (William) of Millerstown; grandchildren, Scott Sheaffer (Michelle) and Stacy Snavely (Mark) and great grandchildren, Julia and Anna Sheaffer and Emma, Hayden and Harper Snavely. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lloyd, David and John Sheesley and sisters, Dorothy Whitsel, Nellie Stine and Beulah Noss.
Services will be held on Friday, December 30 from the Faith United Church, Ickesburg, with a viewing from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11 AM with Reverend Elaine Moyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Buffalo Cemetery.
