H Evylen Drum of Newport, Pennsylvania passed away on 12-31-2016 at the age of 96. She was born in Hazleton, Pennsylvania on July 12, 1920, graduated from Hazleton High School and later attended Lebanon Valley College. In 1940, she married Cameron G. Drum and subsequently moved to Harrisburg where her husband served as the minister of the Grace Evangelical Congregational Church of Lawnton. Throughout her life she was devoted to the work of the church and to her family. For the first decade of her marriage, she was a stay-at-home mother of two sons. In 1950 she began her career with Nationwide Insurance Company, where she worked in various positions until her retirement in 1986. She was active in Toastmistresses and enjoyed participating in local and regional speech competitions. Her favorite hobby was making ceramic figurines and she enjoyed travelling, especially to European destinations. She was pre-deceased in 1991 by her husband of 51 years, Reverend Cameron G. Drum, and her brothers Paul Floyd 1996 and John Floyd in 2013. She is survived by her sons Cameron E. Drum and his wife Connie of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania and David J. Drum and his wife Candyce of Austin, Texas as well as eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a date yet to be determined.
